Frequently asked questions

The questions institutional investment offices ask us most often about DEALWISE, covering scope, configuration, integration, security and commercials.

Can DEALWISE follow our own deal flow rather than a standard one?
Yes. DEALWISE ships with a built-in ideal deal flow, however it can be customised based on your organisation's Delegation of Authority and portfolio needs. Stage names, gate criteria, mandatory evidence, approval thresholds, SLA rules and escalation paths are all configurable by your administrators.
Which asset classes does the platform support?
Private equity direct investments, private equity funds, private debt, real estate and infrastructure. Each is configured as its own portfolio with its own stages, masters and reporting pack, while rolling up into a single institutional view on the Investment Home dashboard.
How long does implementation take?
A typical institutional rollout runs eight to fourteen weeks: discovery and Delegation of Authority mapping (2 weeks), configuration (3 to 4 weeks), data and document migration (2 to 3 weeks), UAT and role-based training (2 weeks), then go-live with hypercare. Delivery follows a PMI-aligned method.
How does DEALWISE integrate with our finance and treasury systems?
Through four standard patterns: authenticated REST APIs, scheduled batch jobs, event webhooks and structured file/SFTP exchange. Common integrations cover treasury and cash management, accounting and ERP, auditing and GRC platforms, and cybersecurity tooling including your identity provider and SIEM.
What happens to the institutional knowledge already held in spreadsheets?
Historic pipeline, valuations, documents and decision records are migrated during implementation, so the platform launches with your existing institutional memory in place. Legacy workbooks can also be retained as attachments against the deals they relate to.
Who can see a sensitive live deal?
Access is granted by role, refined by user group, and can be further restricted at deal level to a named deal team. Additional users request access in-system; the request, the approver and the validity period are logged.
Where is our data hosted?
Three options: DEALWISE Cloud in a region you select, deployment into your own cloud tenancy, or fully on-premises. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with AES-256 in all three models.
How does the platform support audit and regulator reviews?
Every decision, approval, data change and document access event is written to an immutable audit log that is filterable and exportable. Combined with document version history and the Delegation of Authority matrix, most audit evidence requests are answered with a standard report.
Does DEALWISE track deals we rejected or lost?
Yes, deliberately. Rejected deals carry a reason code and the paper that supported the decision; missed opportunities are recorded so origination strategy is informed by what the institution did not win. Nothing is deleted from the record.
What is Ask Anything to AI?
A natural-language layer over your own deal and asset data. Users can ask questions such as which assets breach a covenant this quarter, or how IRR compares across infrastructure since inception, and receive an answer with links back to the source records. It respects each user's permissions.
Can we start small and expand later?
Yes. Essentials, Professional and Enterprise share the same foundation, so upgrading adds modules without migration or re-implementation. Many institutions begin with one portfolio and extend across asset classes after the first reporting cycle.
What support is available after go-live?
Standard (8×5), Premium (extended hours, four-hour critical response, named customer success manager) and Enterprise (24×7, one-hour critical response, quarterly governance review). An optional managed service covers document ingestion, valuation entry and reporting production.
